Weigh Anchor?
So, we’ve talked about getting well anchored links to your site – e.g. having your keyphrase in the link that points to your site.
We’ve also said to link to internal pages where possible.
Now, here’s a fab tool that will let you see:
- which sites are linking to you
and
- the anchor text (or linking text) that they are using

You can easily contact people that are linking to you and ask them to amend their anchor text if necessary.

Firstly, remember to put a copyright notice on every page of your website, along with the year (I’m reliably informed it means nothing without the year).
A simple “Copyright 2007 XYZ Company” should suffice.
That said, there will always be people out there that can’t be bothered to write their own content and want to steal someone else’s. They don’t understand the concept of plagiarism, and they’re the bane of many people’s lives – especially if you write articles, as I do.

As proud as you may be of your company and your product or service, most customers only care about how well you can help them meet their wants and needs. How do you communicate that to them? With the words you use on your website.
When I come to your website, I don’t really care that you say you are ‘the best in our industry’ or even ‘the best in our town’. It’s not important to me that you’ve been around for a squillion years. And I’m not that bothered that you might have 500+ customers.
